BLACK LIGHTNING ‘09 14.5" A gorgeous and hardy ruffled black iris with a contrasting violet beard. It has four flowers per stalk and remains in bloom for a long time. It has put up extra flower stalks in July, like its pod parent Ruby Eruption, but not enough for me to be sure it will rebloom regularly. Some more southerly growers will need to try this and let us know if it is a rebloomer. A far better grower then other black SDB that have been tried here. Quickly forms clumps. It appears to have four plicata genes, is spite of it’s solid black colour. CANTIQUE ‘01 M 12" The delicate smooth pastel orange flower has an orange-brown fall spot with pastel orange lines on shoulders and darker orange rim on the falls. CRYSTAL CARPET ‘04 EM 12" Colour and performance from this child of Butterscotch Carpet . With all the carpet characteristics of strong performance, mass of blooms and can be neglected and still perform. Light blue standards. Falls are light blue with a dark blue-violet crescent below intense yellow and orange beard. A black spot at bottom of crescent. CHERRY WEB, 13" M, Standards are a light rose pink colour with fine veining of dark cherry. The falls start out as dark cherry red in the center, and gradually lighten out towards the edge, with a thin border of the same colour as the standards. Cerise beard goes well with the lighter shade of cherry red on the falls. Very rich warm colours. (HIGH WIRE X PUMPING IRON) .......................................................$6.00

CYCLOPS ‘03 13” M Standards are a blend of rosy-violet and yellow-tan with yellow-tan midrib. Falls very dramatic with a yellow-tan and white blend to end of beard and then a thin edge totally encircling a large rosy-violet spot that is violet around end of beard.
